1000 kanji in 4 months

日（ひ） Kanji for day and sun. It's probably the most basic kanji ever. I think the meaning usually shifts from day, sun and Japan, but I prefer recognizing it as the kanji for "day/sun" Japanese readings are ひ、び、か Classical chinese derived readings are 　ジツ、ニチ In chinese the reading is rì . I've been studying japanese for a while now and memorizing 漢字 has always been a struggle. I think for most people it is. Advanced learners have different suggestions when it comes to learning 漢字,  but I still haven't really figured out what is the best way for me to learn. Recently I've read an article about someone who  challenged themselve to learn 2000 漢字 in 3 months. I am NOT trying to memorize 2000 in 3 months. I actually know quite a lot of 漢字 by now, but I'm trying to be more modest here. To be honest, I never really understood the mechanics of 漢字 memorizing exercises. I had for me that the best way to actually learn 漢字 and the different readings would be, well, reading japanese, which I actually do quite a lot. So what I'm gonna try to do here is boost my chances to read and recognize faster a 漢字 when I bump into it. My goal is to have learned the 2000 most used 漢字 by the end of the year. However, I'm bad...
